Would you like a day fishing out on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef? Then join this Coral Sea Fishing tour onboard the MV Norseman. This tour departs daily and allows you to try your hand at landing some of the best fighting and eating fish the Coral Sea has to offer.
We are targeting table fish on this day tour. Using either hand lines or rod with overhead Penn reels, and whenever possible, float lines. Of course throughout the day we will encounter such species as Large Mouth Nannygai and Coral Trout. Sometimes though all the excitement and activity in the water brings along other fish such as Giant Trevally, Cobia and Spanish Mackerel
Don’ discount the use of hand lines.  Using a hand line allows you to have better reaction time and hook that catch before they take your line into the coral! Professional Live Trout fishermen use hand lines to catch Coral Trout.
You will have about 4.5 hours of fishing time on this full day tour. You get to keep your own catch and it will be gutted and bagged ready for you to take home. There are a couple of restaurants in Port Douglas that will cook your fish for you for a nominal fee – we can let you know who they are.  Any fish caught on the shared rod are shared with all guests. Â
Of course if ‘no take’ species such as Barramundi Cod, Maori Wrasse or Chinaman Fish are caught these will be thrown back. We also always adhere to bag limits and size restrictions.

Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to re-schedule or alter all or part of a reservation.
Cancellation fees are as follows:
20% cancellation fee 30 days or more prior to departure
50% cancellation fee if within 30 days prior to departure
100% cancellation fee within 14 days prior to departure
There will be no refund of any part of your tour costs should you fail to arrive at a scheduled tour departure time. Tour departures may not be delayed due to passenger circumstances - including events beyond your control, medical problems, airline delays, weather etc.
All passengers are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation insurance, evacuation and medical cover. Please read the wording of your insurance policy carefully and ensure it covers you for all potential activities

COVID safe Tour Protocols & Procedures
Pre-screening
Wherever possible, Reef Trips will seek to pre-screen crew and passengers prior to attendance, in line with identified public health processes.
Maintenance of effective records, survey/questionnaire responses and other customer information may be vital in the community response to COVID-19. Records including pre-screening and contact details will be kept for a minimum two-month period.
Pre-screening also helps to increase staff and customer confidence that they are safe.
Social distancing
Due to the nature of COVID-19 and the manner in which the virus spreads (through close contact with an infected person or touching a contaminated surface), the most effective way to slow transmission of the virus is through physical distancing and hygiene practices.
In all contexts, our staff will facilitate practices which support appropriate social distancing aligned to most recent advice from the Chief Health Officer.
Our management and crew will remain up to date with health advice and to ensure compliance, above and beyond the details outlined in this document.
Indoor and outdoor areas have been calculated for maintaining a density of no more than 1 person per 4-meter square of floor space.
Cleaning & Hygiene
Management will:
Promote frequent and effective hand washing by all staff, customers, and visitors.
Have cleaning and disinfect products readily available with instructions on safe & effective cleaning & disinfecting procedures.
Ensure adequate time and resources are provided for enhanced cleaning procedures to be undertaken.
Ensure appropriate training for staff to implement enhanced cleaning procedures in line with contemporary practice.
Have alcohol-based hand sanitiser and or hand washing facilities with soap readily available to staff and customers for regular use.
Marine Tourism COVID Safe Requirements
A capacity of one person per two square metres based on accessible indoor and outdoor space provided the outdoor space offers protection when inclement weather is expected (e.g. from the sun and rain).
OR
Up to 100% of indoor seated capacity provided passengers are in ticketed and allocated seating to allow for inclement weather, except the kiosk (e.g. food and beverage kiosk) where passengers must maintain 1.5m physical distancing from these areas. Operators must also manage the outdoor space to maintain one person per two square metres in these areas.
